Well here we are with just 24 hours to go! This time tomorrow we will be on our way to
Canterbury where Bishop Trevor Wilmott will hand over the message from the Very Revd Robert Willis, Dean of
Canterbury for us to bring back to the people of Guildford in a unique act
of friendship between the two communities.
Last night we had thunder and lightning and more is forecast
for today which could make the walking conditions on the North Downs on
Saturday and Sunday interesting! But we
have all got good equipment and so if we are sensible we should be OK. The forecast for next week currently looks
settled with the temperatures not too high, so good walking conditions.
We are really looking forward to meeting people along the way and we
hope people will don their walking boots and come out to walk with us especially as we get closer to the
finish in Guildford on Sunday 28th September. We hope we will have a good turnout on that Sunday, particularly as we may need to be carried up to the Cathedral by then!
Please make sure you check in regularly on Twitter and our Blog throughout the week as we will be updating as we go and providing
details of our route and timings for the next day. Photos and links should appear on our Facebook site
too.
And finally, if you are unable to walk with us then please put next Sunday (28th) in your diary and join us around 4.30pm at the
Cathedral as we hand over the Dean’s message to the Very Revd Dianna Gwilliams, Dean of Guildford.
